Jewish Choral Music with our Director of Congregational Music

Join Cantor Benjamin once a month as we dive into the rich heritage of the Western Choral Music Cannon rooted in Jewish text and tradition.  Discussions will dive into the composition of the works, the performance tradition, and its place or lack thereof in Judaism. Composers to include Haydn, Handel, Mendelssohn, Bloch and others. We will also focus on musicals by Sondheim and Jason Robert Brown, a Tony Award nominee for his contributions to the score of Urban Cowboy the Musical.
