BTBJ SOFTBALL TEAM

baseball-player-running.jpg

Each year, BTBJ fields a softball team in the Delaware Valley Synagogue League, a modified, fast-pitch softball league with about 20 synagogues and Jewish organizations in the Greater Philadelphia region.  Modified, fast-pitch means pitchers can pitch as fast as they want, but they are not permitted to windmill pitch like traditional softball.  The season stretches from April until late-July or early-August (depending on how far we make it in the playoffs!), and the team plays 1-2 games/week – on Monday through Thursday nights at 6:00pm  - at fields throughout the region, including the Greater Plymouth Community Center (corner of Germantown and Walton Roads), Mondauk Park in Dresher, Ogontz Field in Elkins Park, and Sunnybrook Park near Blue Bell (among others).

Whether it’s making great plays on the field or catching up with teammates over food and drinks after the game, the softball team is proud to wear BTBJ across their chest.  While roster sizes are limited, if you have some talent and a desire to play, please contact team captain Michael Drossner at mdrossner@me.com for more information.
