Our Guest Scholar in Residence will offer a presentation on “Jewish Calcutta Through Music and Memory” and present a fascinating personal journey mirroring the story of Calcutta’s Jews with humor, poignancy and song.
Saturday, January 19, 2019 - Don’t miss this special Shabbat Shira Service featuring an Indian flair. Rahel Musleah will lead the Torah service and chant Torah and haftarah in the Baghdadi-Indian nusah and tropes and will present a D’var Torah on “Recreating Community Through Prayer”. Shabbat morning services will be followed by our traditional Tu B’Shevat Seder including some Indian delights!
Finally, join us for Motzaei Shabbat and a unique dinner and Havdalah experience: Masala Havdalah: A Spicy end to Shabbat.
